Wickless Pulsating Heatpipe Systems


REXUS Pulsating Heatpipe System developed by Aavid Thermalloy’s Italian Design Center in conjunction with the European Space Agency has been launched from the Esrange Space Center in Kiruna, North Sweden. It’s one of two prototypes manufactured for the INWIP Project (Innovative Wickless Heat Pipe Systems) in order to study the behaviour of a Pulsating Heatpipe System in micro-gravity conditions.

NSK miniature linear guides bring higher dynamics to pick-and-place machines

As machines for the semiconductor industry operate with cycle times of one second or less, pick-and-place units must offer very high dynamic performance. A case in point can be seen at a manufacturer of chip-mounting systems, where NSK recommended a combination of its ball screw and miniature linear guide technologies to replace the existing linear motor and significantly increase dynamic capability.

Compact Structure for Optimal Integration

mk Profile Systems’ new, extremely compact GUF-P 2045 belt conveyor is light, and compact. It is outstandingly suited for integration in units with minimal installation space. The 50mm Ø motorized rollers combined with the weight-optimised 45mm high conveyor frame profiles, results in an extremely flat conveyor without interference contours. The permissible total load of 15 kg is suited for the majority of products that are typical in the packaging and plastics industry. The conveyor speed is configured via the associated control box that is also compact in nature for optimal integration and is prepared for connection to a customer-provided power supply (24 V DC).
