What’s new in Electronics? @WhatsNewInElec

What’s New in Electronics Live (WNIE LIVE), the UK Electronics Expo, previously National Electronics Week (NEW) has made some big changes to their 2018 event after receiving feedback from a post-event survey sent to all previous exhibitors.

Encouragingly 97% of the respondents confirmed that they wanted a dedicated UK Electronics Event which was great to hear, as an organiser they pride themselves on reacting to industry feedback and want to continue to develop and improve the event, making it a strong advocate for this sector.

Other key points that came through from the survey were:

*  Having good features and technical content is key, this is something they are going to develop and concentrate particularly on those features that worked well before and introduce new elements that will complement – so any ideas or suggestions please feel free to let them know.

*  A 2 day event is what industry wants – 3 days doesn’t work for this sector.

*  Co-located events are good as long as they are relevant.

*  The date line being in the Spring isn’t necessarily the best time of year.

With all of this in mind they have been looking at opportunities to improve the 2018 event, and beyond and are pleased to confirm that moving forward, they will be co-locating with Sensors & Instrumentation and Micro Nano Mems with a shared hall but separate events.  The Expo will run over 2 days from 25th – 26th September at The NEC.

Claire Saunders, Event Director said, “We believe that these events are a strong complement to WNIE Live and will improve our attendee numbers with the type of audience that will have purchasing influence or decision for your products and services. The organisers of these events also have several electronics publications, which means for us, we are able to will work with them alongside our other international media partners and associations.  The key aim is to deliver a strong event for the UK electronics sector and ensure every relevant visitor is aware of it.”

In addition to the new date announcement, WNIE Live welcomes back EMC UK for the 2nd edition, plus both the PPMA Expo (Processing & Packaging Machinery event) and TCT (3D Printing Expo) will be located in adjoining halls.

The WNIE Team are planning to run an open day at the upcoming Sensors and Instrumentation 2017 event and more details on this will follow.  In the meantime, as the floorplan is prepared, any companies interested in getting involved in the exhibition are advised to either call the New Events office on + 44 1428 609 372 or email [email protected]
