Manufacturers and engineers face growing challenges as technology develops. Ever more stringent limits on emissions are driving changes in industry operating practices, while new emerging applications such as shale gas and coal bed methane impose demands for operation under high pressures and temperatures.
Taking place every two years and organised by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, the European Fluid Machinery Congress brings together the foremost figures from research, academia, industry and legal professions to share the latest findings, technologies and innovations in this key area of engineering.
Now in its 13th incarnation, this year’s Fluid Machinery Congress on 3-4 October will be returning to its historical roots in The Netherlands in order to highlight presentations from TNO and Weir Group. These sessions will take place alongside technical showcases and discussions from more than 20 speakers from over seven countries, including Singapore and Algeria, which will follow the theme of this year’s congress: tackling engineering challenges in the most cost efficient way with the latest technology and CFD
Highlights across the two days include:
- Lessons learned when investigating the catastrophic failure of a barrel type centrifugal compressor, lead by SABIC UK Petrochemicals
- Perspectives from Technip on technical evaluations of centrifugal compressor bids for oil and gas projects
- Insights on gas compressor re-rate and process solutions through engineering and collaborations, presented by Weir Group
- How to stay compliant with the latest regulatory requirements for engineers and fluid machinery manufacturers, with insights from James Fisher Defence
- An Aero-Acoustic analysis of a low-pressure centrifugal compressor stage, presented by TNO
The Congress also provides a unique opportunity for all engineers involved in fluid machinery design, maintenance and operation to meet and form new contacts and share key experience to enhance current and future fluid machinery projects across all sectors.
