Tough and robust, these waterproof, circular screw connectors are the de-facto standard in the process industry for reliable automated connections. Due to the growing amount of data being pushed digitally across modern in-train networks, combined with shrinking system footprints, its history of use in rigorous industrial systems has proven the M12 connector very well suited to meet EN50155 for rail applications. M-style connectors are categorised by the size of the threaded locking nut; these include M8, M12 and M23 connectors.

Based on the M8 and M12 threaded coupling connector ranges the connectors have been designed and manufactured to meet customers’ stringent individual requirements for environmental, electrical and mechanical conditions, whilst conforming to EC Directive 2014/34/EU-ATEX Annex III/Module B (EU-TYPE EXAMINATION # AR16ATEX095X).
They are available in axial M8 format with a plastic housing and in M12 as axial or right angled with plastic or metal body shell and are designed for Zone 1 and 2 applications. These field attachable connectors provide the freedom and flexibility to react to the cabling situation on site or to build your own M12 cables. They have a wide variety of uses and can be found in many Ex industry sectors used with proximity switches, sensors and interconnection in potentially explosive environmental conditions.
