LightRiver Software Names COO Industry Leader to Join netFLEX® Team to Lead Operations

CONCORD, CA – Nov. 7, 2018 LightRiver Software, a pioneer and leader in multivendor optical network discovery, analytics and control, proudly announces today that it has appointed network automation industry leader Travis Ewert as Chief Operating Officer.  Effective immediately, Mr. Ewert will join the leadership team and will focus on strategically scaling the business while further enhancing the company’s solution set and customer experience.

Mr. Ewert is an accomplished technology executive, with a 20-plus year history as a transformational champion of network programmability and control. A network technologist since 1994, Travis has focused on network architecture, technology strategy, and network software development exclusively starting in 2008 with executive positions at TW Telecom, Level3 Communications and CenturyLink. Over this time period, Travis led the development of many industry firsts for network and service automation and on-demand or adaptive use cases as made available to the Operation or directly to End Customers.

The opportunity we have at LightRiver to lead the next wave of innovation and network transformation is tremendous, and I am thrilled to join the team,” comments Mr. Ewert. “With netFLEX already deployed for SDN Optical Domain Control in Tier 1 Wireline and Wireless carriers, Global Datacenter and Exchange Providers, Global Cloud/FANG, investor-owned Utility Operators, along with our unique relationships with leading packet optical vendors, we are well positioned. With these relationships in place and the netFLEX platform, we will lead the charge for Customer and Digital Experience advancements for network automation and programmable networking.”

“Travis’ experience and passion for software defined networks, and deep understanding of the positive impact it can make on customer operations, fit perfectly into LightRiver’s long term strategy to de-risk the adoption of best-in-class, next generation networks as our customers move into new technologies and network domains under the coming wave of disaggregation,” states Glenn Johansen, CEO of LightRiver.

“Whether a client operates a legacy network, a leading edge or bleeding edge network, or the most common multigeneration network, they all benefit under the leadership Travis will provide,” adds Mike Jonas, LightRiver President of Global Customer Operations.
