WISE patron Princess Anne presents award to Fritha Bevin-McCrimmon

Fritha Bevin-McCrimmon, who works as a project engineer for Stantec, has taken home the Rising Star of the year award at the 2018 Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Awards.

The Wise Awards were established to recognise inspiring individuals and organisations who are actively working to address the core concerns of WISE – promoting STEM subjects and careers to girls and women.

Fritha grew up in Dunedin, New Zealand, and moved to Christchurch to study engineering at the University of Canterbury. The beginning of her career coincided with the 2011 earthquakes, which had a devastating impact on the infrastructure of the city, and Fritha was able to put her studies into practice to help rebuild the city.
