The EMC cable gland alternative – solutions for conducted and field-bound disturbances

Industrial process technology demands increasing security against EMI disturbances in electrical MCR facilities (measure, control, regulate). Special emphasis is being placed on the derivation of electromagnetic interference where a distinction is made between conductive and field-bound disturbances.
Providing a large contact area of the cable shield from the source of the interference to a conductive enclosure wall, combined with shielding of the enclosure interior, generally offers a good solution for both types of interference.
The icotek cable EMC-KEL-U and EMC-KEL-E entry frames are based on the existing very successful KEL-U and KEL-E product ranges. Featuring a conductive surface, interferences in the cable shields on the control cabinet can be easily dissipated. Field bound disturbances are suppressed by the metallisation between the EMC-KEL and the enclosure metal wall where a conductive flat gasket (included) is mounted.
