Dawn of a new generation

KOLLMORGEN at sps ipc drives: automation solutions for autonomous systems and intelligent production applications.

The second generation is coming. KOLLMORGEN will be at the sps ipc drives trade fair in Nuremberg, where they will showcase drive solutions strongly influenced by digitalization – based around its AKD2G servo drives and AKM2G servo motors. At Stand 250 in Hall 3, the servo drive technology and motion control specialists will be focusing therefore on networked automation applications within increasingly smart production processes – including automation systems for AGVs.More torque, power, energy efficiency, flexibility, and safety: these are the five keys to success for anyone hoping to lead the way when it comes to digitalization of drive technology. The second generation of KOLLMORGEN servo drives fits the bill here, thanks to, for example, yet another increase in power density. They also connect motor data to the cloud – because they offer such “openness” – can be linked directly into existing automation structures. Digitalization is also the big story in terms of safety technology, with great strides being made with human-machine collaborations.

This new type of collaboration is no longer restricted to robotics alone in the form of delicate and precise drive technology especially for Cobot’s. Collaborations are also entering into material flows within businesses – with great success – as illustrated by the increasing number of driverless transport systems. In keeping with its own trade fair motto of “Fast Forward to the Future,” KOLLMORGEN will also take the opportunity, at sps ipc drives, to unveil some totally authentic AGV system solutions for the growing Autonomous Guided Vehicles market.
