Improving Surveillance of Coastal Erosion

Resolve Optics reports on how ultra  large format lenses it has developed are helping a next generation aerial surveillance camera gain data on coastal erosion faster and in more detail.

Coastal erosion is a main environmental concern which requires accurate aerial data. Aerial surveillance specialists – IMAO SAS have recently undertaken a photogrammetric survey in the North of France using their extra large format camera which incorporates Resolve Optics high performance lenses.

Aerial Surveillance work depends on the weather, and is challenged every day by how much data you can acquire when the sky is clear. Incorporating 3 ultra large format, low distortion custom lenses, developed by Resolve Optics, the IMAO B66 extra large format camera produces high quality aerial surveillance images two to three times larger than the standard image size generated by other large format cameras on the market. As a consequence not only are less images required for geographic data mapping but also these images require less processing time saving operators time and money.

In 2017, IMAO SAS and Resolve Optics Ltd. received €1.68 million funding from a European Union Horizon 2020 programme to develop an ultra-large format aerial surveillance camera.

Close-Up Monitoring of Radioactive Processes

The Model 214 Non-Browning fixed focus lens from Resolve Optics is designed for close-up monitoring of radioactive processes in nuclear power, reprocessing and waste storage plants.

This durable lens has been specifically designed for 2/3-inch image format radiation resistant tube and CMOS cameras. The key features of the Model 214 are its use of radiation resistant glass, 85-degree field-of-view and variable iris control.

Offering a focal length of just 6mm the Model 214 non browning lens delivers high quality images with minimal geometric distortion from 400-750nm. Manufactured to the highest standards, using cerium doped glass, the Model 214 is able to withstand radiation exposure of up to 100,000,000 rads and temperatures up to 55°C without discoloration.
