~ WEG joined water industry experts to showcase innovative products and initiatives ~
Global electrical solutions provider, WEG has recently attend the 4th MENA Desalination Projects Forum, which took place from March 14 to 15, 2023 at Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers, UAE. As the largest desalination conference and expo in the region, the forum was the perfect place for WEG to showcase its innovative products and initiatives to combat water scarcity.
The MENA Desalination Projects Forum brought together over 400 regional and international stakeholders from the government consulting, contracting and technology sectors to discuss key issues affecting the desalination industry. As a strategic partner for the event, WEG’s attendance demonstrated the company’s commitment to help address the challenges affecting the water industry. This feeds into the overall mission to sustainably drive forward the region’s 2030 water agenda.
WEG has showcased a range of industrial motor and drive solutions for the industry, as well as case studies of numerous high-profile desalination projects that it has been involved in. These projects have allowed the company to establish itself as a go-to supplier in the region. For example, at the Dubal seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) water plant, WEG supplied its energy-efficient, drives for the plant’s seawater desalination process.
WEG high voltage motors and drives also help to power the Rabigh 3 desalination plant, which is currently the largest reverse osmosis seawater facility in the world. Additionally, WEG has supplied high-voltage motors to the sewerage system for interconnecting developed communities in the Jebel Ali area to DM networks.
“At WEG, we are committed to providing innovative, high-quality solutions that help reduce water scarcity and improve access to clean water,” explained Jesus Rivas, Global Manager of Water and Wastewater at WEG. “Our mission is to provide the best motor and drive solutions for desalination projects in the Middle East. We believe that our integrated systems can help reduce the environmental impact associated with the water industry.”
“Our solutions span a wide range of motor technologies, including induction, synchronous, and permanent magnet motors. These products are designed to meet the most demanding requirements, such as high power, high efficiency, and low noise levels.
“Providing efficient and reliable operation even in harsh environments, such as those found in the Middle East region, WEG’s motors and drives can help reduce energy consumption while providing reliable operation and long-term sustainability.”
The event featured 43 exhibitors and sponsors, alongside panel discussions with industry experts, keynote presentations and technology showcases.
