In a heart-warming display of camaraderie and community spirit, employees at Automated Handling Solutions (AHS), a leading material handling and automation solutions company, have rallied together for a significant cause. Robbie Park, business development manager EMEA, has recently used a series of running events to raise funds for an innovative treatment for multiple sclerosis (MS).
This fundraising initiative was deeply personal for Robbie, as his sister, Amie, was diagnosed with MS 18 months ago. She discovered Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT), an effective treatment unavailable in the UK, but the cost is prohibitively high. Motivated by his sister’s plight, Robbie, with the support of his colleagues, initiated a campaign to help cover the cost of the treatment.
The series of events, which included a 5km, 10km, and a half-marathon, saw enthusiastic participation from 15 employees, with each contributing to the fundraiser’s GoFundMe page.
Ben Ayrton, managing director and VP of operations supply chain Europe AHS & AMP, said: “This fundraising represents more than just a series of events, it’s also a testament to the strength and unity of our team. Seeing our staff come together for such a critical cause, supporting one of their own, truly embodies the spirit of the company.
“We are not only dedicated to innovating within our field, but also to creating a positive impact on the lives of our employees and their families. This campaign has been more than just a fundraiser – it represents hope for Amie and serves as inspiration for others fighting MS.”
The dedication to this cause exemplifies the company’s commitment to its core values and the power of collective effort in making a tangible difference.
