New opportunities for buyers at CWIEME Berlin

~ Event provides global hub for entire industry value chain ~

How do you know who to do business with in a global, trillion-dollar industry? You gather the key players from around the world under one roof, says Patrick Hyslop, Event Director at Hyve Group, organiser of global coil winding and electrical manufacturing event, CWIEME Berlin. Here, he explores three ways that this year’s event will make buyers’ lives easier.

CWIEME is the world’s largest international trade fair and conference dedicated to the coil winding and electrical manufacturing industry. It’s a comprehensive hub that showcases the entire value chain, from raw materials to finished products and services. CWIEME brings together manufacturers, suppliers, and industry professionals from all over the world — last year, more than 5,000 visitors from 88 countries came to see over 600 exhibitors. This year’s event, which is held on May 14-16 at Messe Berlin, is expected to be even bigger.

Buyers attend the show to source new suppliers, reunite with existing ones and get hands-on with innovative products. One of our key goals at CWIEME is to make the lives of those buyers and our exhibitors as easy as possible.

Come together

First, we bring people together from around the world by creating a physical hub for this global industry. This really helps buyers find the specific things they need because, unlike other shows, CWIEME covers the whole end-to-end value chain. You could arrive with nothing and leave with solutions for your entire supply chain.

We’ve worked with organisations on the ground to curate a Who’s Who of international trade. Buyers can explore international expertise in our select pavilions featuring key players from countries like India, Latvia and the Czech Republic. Additionally, our diverse exhibitor base spans the globe, showcasing expertise from around the world.

Global supply chains have been volatile in recent years but, at CWIEME, buyers know that they’re talking to the local experts in any given country. This is particularly useful when it comes to sourcing materials and products that need to meet different certifications and legislations, which can be region-specific.

Connect

Second, once everyone is in the same place, we help facilitate new connections with networking opportunities. Often, participants use the exhibition as an opportunity to reconnect with existing trade partners, recognising the cost-effectiveness of spending a few days at the show compared to extensive worldwide travel to visit showrooms.

As well as catching up with old friends, visitors come to forge new partnerships. We launched Connect @ CWIEME last year and have used participant feedback and trials at other events to improve the platform and make it more flexible. This year, rather than arranging scheduled, fixed timeslots, buyers can express interest in visiting exhibitors’ stands during a particular time period, which helps them plan their visits and helps exhibitors prepare for busy periods.

Because we vet everyone that registers for a ticket, and only approve them if they meet certain credentials, all attendees are more likely to have the conversation they want to have. While some events cater more to general browsing, exhibitors at CWIEME know they must be prepared to help buyers address highly specific challenges.

Connect @ CWIEME aside, all registered visitors will be assigned a community development manager — a dedicated person to work with them ahead of the show to help ensure that they have a successful and productive few days. Our community development managers are on-hand from the moment that they register to help identify any exhibitors that attendees might want to meet, as well as make recommendations for content that they might find interesting across CWIEME Berlin’s forums.

Communicate

Finally, we create platforms for buyers and exhibitors alike to consider the future of their businesses and spark ideas for the industry at large. For example, the Future Engineers Programme inspires the next generation of engineers and innovators, fostering collaboration between academic institutions and the industry and nurturing new talent. In addition, the real-time vacancies board helps companies connect with up-and-coming talent and experienced experts.

The brand-new Startup Zone highlights newcomers offering the latest cutting-edge innovations, with already confirmed offerings including 3D FEM simulation for power electronics, high-performance motors and the smallest custom passive sensor in the world.

The packed schedule of in-depth content across two stages offers the latest technical developments and trends from senior industry leaders and keynote speakers. CWIEME delivers a programme of highly curated sessions bringing together the entire supply chain. The audience for CWIEME content sessions grows each year, with over 2,300 visitors taking part in 2023.

Serving the needs of a global industry is no easy feat, but now in its third decade, CWIEME continues to do just that. Registration is now open, so to sign up for a ticket, join Connect @ CWIEME and optimise your time at the show with your dedicated community management team, visit berlin.cwiemeevents.com or contact the team at [email protected].
