WEG to deliver ‘sustainability’ presentation at Europump’s 2024 Annual Meeting

WEG, a world leader in motor, drive, and asset management systems technology is honoured to be the headline sponsor of this year’s Europump Annual Meeting, taking place at the spectacular De Vere Beaumont Estate near Windsor from 22nd – 24th May. As part of its engagement with this key event for the international pump community, WEG will be giving a Keynote presentation on the ethical, ecological, and commercial benefits of sustainability.

Hosted by the British Pump Manufacturers Association (BPMA) this important gathering for the pump sector will deliver a comprehensive programme of meetings and presentations that offer both intellectual and commercial value at a practical level for Europe’s leading pump manufacturers and suppliers.

In addition to sessions dedicated to the activities of the various Europump Commissions – Technical, Standards, Marketing, SME – an impressive line-up of Keynote Speakers has been secured. These include Stephen Phipson CBE, Chief Executive at Make UK, Kiran Ahmed, Lead Economist at Oxford Economics, and Mike Otten, Director, Edge & Intelligence at Xylem. These experts will now be joined by the two speakers from WEG who will further enhance the knowledge transfer for attendees.

Enjoying an unrivalled position as a key supplier to the global pump industry, WEG is renowned for its best practice in developing technologies and solutions that contribute to a more efficient and sustainable world. This dedicated presentation will provide details on its own internal ESG programs as well as the products and solutions aimed at supporting its partners’ decarbonisation journey, and the all-important reduction in energy consumption and CO2 emissions.

A crucial topic for the pump industry, it will be addressed by two senior executives from WEG’s headquarters in Brazil. Firstly, delegates will be treated to a talk by Daniel Godinho who holds the position of Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Director, with responsibility for sustainability, social investment, institutional affairs, corporate marketing, and business intelligence. The second part of the presentation will be given by Martin Brand, who as Engineering Director at WEG Automation is in charge of the fabrication and engineering of products for several business segments including low and medium voltage drives, switchgear and solar, among others.

Commenting on WEG’s support of this year’s event, Marek Lukaszczyk, European Marketing Manager said: “WEG is honoured to be sponsoring this important gathering for the European pump sector and to help facilitate the delivery of such a strong programme. The pump industry, in all its facets, continues to be a crucial business sector for WEG and its motor, drive and asset management technology, which support many of the world’s most important pump installations. As a long-standing supporter of both the BPMA and Europump, it was an easy decision to lend our support and backing to this key event. WEG remains totally committed to further developing its relationship with pump manufacturers across the globe, and we see the 2024 Europump Annual Meeting as a way of endorsing that universal commitment.”

BPMA CEO, Wayne Rose, added: “We are thrilled to have secured the support and engagement of WEG, which has enabled us to stage this must-attend event

for those senior pump executives looking to successfully navigate their way through the complexities of pump manufacturing and distribution over the coming months and years. As such, I would encourage anyone not already booked into the event to do so straight away.”
