Scalable energy management at EMEX

~ IAconnects to showcase smart energy and EV charging technologies ~

IoT solutions specialist IAconnects will exhibit a range of smart building and energy technologies at EMEX, taking place on 19–20 November 2025 at ExCeL London. The company, a long-standing Beckhoff Solutions Provider, will demonstrate how end-users can achieve real-time electrical energy monitoring, site-wide optimisation and EV charging management using integrated hardware and software. Beckhoff will support IAconnects on Stand C81.

Visitors can see how Beckhoff’s new EL6761 terminal enables direct communication with EV charging infrastructure, including the vehicle and higher-level charging management systems. The terminal supports IEC 61851 and Powerline Communication, enabling Beckhoff controllers to function as the charger.

When combined with Beckhoff’s OCPP communication library (TF6771), the system can interface with third-party chargers and wider charging platforms. The demo also uses Beckhoff energy measurement terminals to capture granular power data for load balancing across busy charging sites.

A second demonstration focuses on system-integrated energy management. It highlights how Beckhoff measurement terminals monitor circuit-level consumption and how existing meters can be brought into the platform using M-Bus and Modbus. This provides a unified view of site performance without replacing legacy devices.

IAconnects will also present its pre-built energy monitoring panels, designed to deliver rapid deployment across commercial and industrial sites. The panels, built around Beckhoff hardware, use 4G connectivity to send data to the cloud, where it can be visualised and analysed. This gives facilities teams an out-of-the-box route to energy transparency and ongoing optimisation.

“These demonstrations show how open control architectures make it far easier to scale energy and EV charging projects,” explained Dave Lister, solutions specialist at IAconnects. “Organisations want accurate data, faster commissioning and technologies that work together without bespoke engineering. By building our solutions on trusted Beckhoff hardware, we can offer exactly that.”

Beckhoff specialists will be available on the stand to discuss PC-based control, energy measurement and smart building applications. IAconnects will also provide guidance on deploying connected systems across multi-site estates, including strategies for retrofitting energy monitoring into existing infrastructure.
