Operational hotel retrofit completed within six weeks using comprehensive pipework solutions from Brymec
Rayleigh, Essex, UK, 18th May 2026 – Brymec, the building services manufacturer and integrated systems partner, supplied the full M&E pipework and fittings package for a decarbonisation project at Premier Inn Rayleigh. Working alongside building services contractor RNW Group, the project replaced an ageing boiler installation with an air source heat pump within a tight six-week programme while the hotel remained operational throughout.
Six weeks, one live site
Live hospitality projects allow little room for slippage. With the hotel programme to protect, RNW needed rapid and reliable installation methods. Press-fit jointing kept the schedule on track by reducing jointing time, removing hot work permits and reducing flushing requirements, lowering water and energy use during commissioning.
Brymec’s team worked closely with RNW during material selection, matching the right system to each application and recommending a heavy-duty steel press-fit system to accelerate the programme to reduce on-site risk. They also supported project planning, manufacturing and phased deliveries to fit the site’s storage and access constraints.
Ferne Layton, Internal Account Manager at Brymec, said: “Open, consistent communication with RNW has given everyone confidence and kept the project coordinated throughout. It’s allowed us to work as one team, make quicker decisions and deliver efficient, considered solutions on site.”
Material matched to application
Brymec specified the most suitable product for each application.
The design combined heavy-duty steel press-fit, copper press-fit and malleable iron steel pipework, alongside Brymec valves, brackets and ancillaries. Sourcing the full package from a single manufacturer simplified procurement, reduced incompatibility risk and gave RNW one accountable partner and one warranty across the package.

Heavy Duty Steel Press drives programme pace
At Rayleigh, RNW leaned into the solution, as the live hotel schedule would not tolerate downtime or the typical time slippage associated with conventional methods.
Brymec’s Heavy Duty Steel Press solution underpinned the installation. By removing the need for hot work, oil and swarf on site it enabled a cleaner install than traditional methods of threading and welding. To keep track of progress, press indicator foils gave installers immediate visual confirmation of completed joints, helping the team verify the integrity of their work as it progressed. The system also offers resistance to fire impact, corrosion and pressure variation.
Jamie Eacott, Site Engineer at RNW Group, said: “The press itself makes our jobs much easier and removes the need for threading. Other methods are very time-consuming. The heavy-duty press is stronger and more reliable, and we’d use it again on future projects where we need to reduce time on site and need something heat-resistant.”
Supporting hospitality decarbonisation
The Premier Inn at Rayleigh stayed open throughout the works and is one of many sites from this nationwide hospitality brand undergoing significant transformation as part of their ongoing decarbonisation mission. Brymec has partnered closely with RNW Group to ensure consistent support and reliable delivery.
Billy Stubbs, Contract Manager at RNW Group, added: “Brymec’s service, reliability and product availability really stand out, and the innovation across the ranges keeps improving.”
Built for what comes next
As more operators commit to decarbonisation programmes on live estates, contractors will need suppliers who can match the pace and complexity of working around guests. Premier Inn Rayleigh is one example of how that’s being done.
