BAKERHICKS STRENGTHENS NUCLEAR AND DEFENCE TEAM

BakerHicks, the multi-disciplinary design, engineering and project delivery company, has strengthened its Nuclear and Defence function, with the appointments of Chris Bark and Andy Payne.

Chris Bark joins as Director for Nuclear and Defence – South, with close to three decades’ experience across high‑hazard, highly regulated nuclear and defence programmes, leading major portfolios across the sector. Throughout his career he has worked at executive, client and government level, and brings extensive project, programme and portfolio management experience. In his new role, Chris will be responsible for developing client and project relationships across the Nuclear and Defence sectors in the south of the UK.

Chris will work closely with Andy Payne, who has been promoted to Director for Nuclear and Defence – North. He brings over 40 years’ experience in project delivery, built through a career in global defence, security, and nuclear organisations. Most recently, Andy served as Framework Director at BakerHicks, where he was responsible for managing client relationships and overseeing delivery, commercial performance, governance and growth opportunities.

Together, Chris and Andy strengthen BakerHicks’ ability to deliver a more focused, regionally led approach to understanding and supporting client needs across one of the UK’s most complex and strategically important sectors.

Their appointments further strengthen the business’ ability to support clients with senior-sector insight, long-term relationship development and delivery expertise across the UK.

Commenting on his appointment, Chris said: “BakerHicks has a strong and growing footprint across the defence and nuclear industries, areas that are of critical importance to infrastructure and national resilience. I’m looking forward to building on the work of the team during what is an important time for the industry as a whole.

Andy added: “BakerHicks is taking a proactive, regionally focused approach to supporting clients across the nuclear and defence sectors, and I’m pleased to be part of the leadership team helping to drive that. By strengthening our presence across the UK, we’re in a better position to understand client priorities and support the successful delivery of major projects across the country.”
