~ DeSci Publish’s new AI-driven matchmaker for scientific content ~
Open science start-up DeSci Labs has launched a new AI-enabled article matcher on DeSci Publish to help scientists find related scientific content quickly and easily. The AI matchmaker, which covers over 250 million articles from Open Alex, has two clear user groups, paper authors and scientific readers.
Scientists can use this feature to explore better research that is closely related to their paper draft. It helps them better understand the existing literature and see which journals have recently published similar research, allowing them to refine their publication strategy. Additionally, by quickly identifying related publications, researchers can discover potential reviewers when preparing to submit their work to a target journal.
Readers of scientific literature can use this feature to dive deeper into topics of interest – each time they view a paper on DeSci Publish, they will see five closely related articles published within the last five years. This even works for articles published a long time ago (e.g. in the 1960s), which enables readers to do a “time jump” from classics to the current state of research on the same topic.
“DeSci Publish’s new AI article matcher opens up a new way to discover the scientific literature. Existing search engines require you to know what you’re looking for (e.g. a paper title), but they do not show you closely related work. But what if you just want to browse and learn more about at topic? For that, you would typically look at the references of a paper you found interesting,” explained Prof Philipp Koellinger, CEO and co-founder of DeSci Labs.
“However, that only reveals related publications that the authors were aware of when they wrote the paper. Our AI article matcher fills a gap by immediately showing you five closely related papers published in the past five years. You can just click on them and keep reading and discovering,” concluded Koellinger.
The AI article matcher tool is freely available at https://publish.desci.com/. Try it out or sign up for DeSci Publish to get closely matching articles, novelty scores, and other AI-analytics for your own research articles.
