Manufacturing shop-floor software specialist, Forcam, has reinforced its UK presence with the appointment of Andrew Steele as managing director of UK operations. Coming from an aerospace background, with experience of OEM and tier 1 suppliers, Andrew has a deep understanding of manufacturing issues, and economics. This includes innovation and the complexity of manufacturing supply chains.
Andrew explained, “I’m no stranger to innovation and change and relish the challenge of introducing such a revolutionary advance as Factory Framework from Forcam. Computerised manufacturing execution systems on the factory floor have huge potential to energise UK industry at all levels. Productivity is one aspect of this, but the possibilities arising from the interconnection of all the key manufacturing systems via the Forcam system and the adoption of the ‘Internet of Things’ opens opportunities and signposts a new era for manufacturers.”
After an initial training and induction period at Forcam’s HQ in Germany, Andrew will be making contact with existing users and potential key accounts throughout the UK aerospace, automotive, rail and engineering supply chain.
