The Future of British Manufacturing – a NEW initiative from The Manufacturer and Autodesk, FREE to attend for SMEs!

The Manufacturer has teamed up with Autodesk to launch The Future of British Manufacturing Initiative. Through a four step process this initiative is a hands on approach to enable British design and manufacturing companies to increase their productivity, innovation and exports through “repetitive advantage”.

“The 4th industrial revolution is upon us and the landscape for manufacturers, particularly SME’s is arguably more complex and difficult to navigate than ever before in industrial history. The opportunities are vast, as are the threats. It is for this reason, that Autodesk and The Manufacturer, along with NetSuite and our other partners, have produced The Future of British Manufacturing Initiative: Britain’s response to Industry 4.0 up and down the country to try and help UK Manufacturers plot a path and seize repetitive advantage” Henry Anson, Managing Director, The Manufacturer

The initiative incorporates an online Future of Making Things (FoMT) readiness assessment, four FoMT regional events, a FoMT fast track programme and a national FoMT event at the end of the year.

“As we enter a new industrial era, British design and manufacturing has the opportunity to once again be the backbone of the UK economy and play an even larger part in Europe and the world. Traditional approaches of competitive advantage are no longer enough. The future of British manufacturing lies in its ability to leverage its pedigree of design and innovation and bring this to the market. That is why we are delighted to be working with The Manufacturer and launching The Future of British Manufacturing Initiative.” Asif Moghal, Manufacturing Industry Manager, Autodesk

A number of partners have already signed up to help support the initiative with many more conversations happening as this goes to press. NetSuite, Catapult, Department for Business Innovation and Skills, KTN and Lloyds Bank are already on board.
