JEI Solutions has strengthened its STEELBEAST® range of metal fabricating equipment with the addition of not one, not two, but three new double-sided bevelling machines, including the XL12, which is the first and only product of its type in the UK.
Weighing only 30kg, the XL12 provides a lightweight and versatile solution for producing a double-sided bevel on any steel plate or component between 3mm and 35mm in thickness.
It does this by rotating 180 degrees, therefore turning upside down, to create an equal weld ready bevel edge on both sides. Its smooth operation means there is hardly any noise, contributing to a more pleasant working environment for welders and fabricators.
The XL12 can be used either in a stationary position on a worktop, or can be set to automatically move along the plate. Without the need of an extra stand the XL12 also provides a convenient portable site solution with its user-friendly handles making it easy to position and move around the workplace as required.
Visible graduated scales offer a simple and accurate set-up procedure, which enables welders to achieve precise angles of between 22.5 and 50 degrees.
Completing JEI’s new product line-up is the XL15 variable angle plate bevelling machine and XL50 with unique 3D Plus technology. Like the XL12, these two machines are designed to create a double-sided bevel ready for welding.
The XL15 is designed to bevel steel plate and metal components from 6mm to 40mm in thickness and allows operators to achieve variable bevel angles from 15 to 50 degrees, without replacing any parts.
Weighing 175kg, the XL50 is the heavier machine of the three and also requires no extra parts to achieve infinitely variable bevel angles from 15 to 60 degrees. It is designed to accommodate mild steel, stainless steel, HARDOX, DOMEX and aluminium plates from 7mm to 70mm in thickness. Its unique 3D Plus bevelling technology creates a precise double bevel without the need of an overhead crane.
