The Rt. Hon Lord Francis Maude of Horsham, former Minister of State for Trade and Investment and Minister for the Cabinet Office and Paymaster General, has been confirmed as the headline seminar speaker at the PPMA Total Show 2016, the UK’s premier Processing and Packaging Machinery and Packaging Materials exhibition.
Opening the show on Tuesday 27 September, Lord Francis Maude will discuss the growing importance of global standards and the role of the British Standards Institution (BSI) following the recent EU referendum. He will also highlight the importance of the manufacturing industry for the UK economy and reveal the need in the post-Brexit world for business to cultivate a genuinely global outlook.
Speaking about his appearance, Lord Francis Maude, said: “As Trade Minister I found huge goodwill for Britain around the world and a sense that we stand for real quality and reliability. It’s important now that we do not underestimate the importance of manufacturing in our economy. I look forward to sharing my experience and insights with exhibitors and visitors at the PPMA Total Show 2016.”
Joining Lord Francis Maude, speakers including Emma Mcleod, Principal Engineer for Process Solutions Global Chocolate R&D Team at Mondelez International; Claire Shrewsbury, Packing Programme Area Manager for WRAP and Emma De-Alwis, Hygiene Specialist at Campden BRI will take to the seminar stage to share their insights and expertise on the latest industry challenges and trends.
Additional speakers confirmed for the 2016 exhibition also include Neil Farmer of the Neil Farmer Associates; Ben Clarke, Training & Education Manager at GS1; and Nick Kesterton of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE).
Taking place from 27 – 29 September 2016, the PPMA Total Show will showcase the UK’s latest innovations in processing and packaging machinery, materials, containers and packaging design.
