ATAM’s 2 NEW SOLUTIONS ARE RIGHT AT HOME WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH

A new family of coils designed for use in extreme and demanding conditions has been launched by ATAM. The Series 471, 472 and 473 are available in 37mm, 45mm and 65mm external diameters and with DIN, DEUTCH and AMP JT electrical connections.

 

Suitable for extreme temperature applications and encapsulated in high grade plastic with Class H thermal resistance, the coils incorporate an external armature offering resistance to physical damage and improved magnetic flux, IP65, IP67 and IP69K protection degrees and a salt spray resistance for the white rust of 120h and red rust of 360h.

 

ATAM has also launched a new range of 3 solenoids for potentially explosive environments, each of which has different levels of ATEX and IECEx certifications. Model 455 is the centrepiece featuring an explosion-proof case and ATEX and IECEx certification for gas and dust for zones 1 and 2, making it ideal for hydraulic applications in locations with potentially explosive environments, such as mining.

 

In addition, model 455 features a low carbon steel micro-fusion casing, whilst its body and end flanges are Zinc-Nickel plated, offering high corrosion resistance. Available in voltages of between 6V and 240V, in both DC and AC outputs, the 455 solenoid can operate with a working pressure of 350 dynamic bar and in an environmental temperature range between -60°C and +80°C, in T4, T5 and T6 temperature classes.

 

The 455 solenoid can be supplied either with or without cable, allowing the customer to select the most appropriate cable to meet industry regulation requirements for their particular application.

 

These new families of ATAM products are born as a direct result of technical interactions between design and development and many years of experience gained in the manufacture of encapsulated coils and industrial connectors. ATAM’s state of the art test lab allows it to simulate the use of its products in any number of combinations, thereby ensuring optimum product performance, reliability and resilience are achieved prior to market launch.
