~ Coventry engineering company introduces new opportunities ~

After a recording breaking year for growth and investment, steering system specialist, Pailton Engineering is welcoming applications for opportunities at its Coventry headquarters. Those interested can choose between Pailton’s design and development engineering path or a role as a machine operator. Potential candidates can find out more on the Pailton Engineering recruitment page.

Pailton Engineering designs, manufactures and tests steering systems for a range of specialist vehicles, including buses, military vehicles and commercial vehicles. The company works closely with tier one vehicle manufacturers to meet challenging design specifications.

Operating in a niche but ever-changing industry creates a challenging and varied environment for Pailton Engineering. Engineers in this field must be equipped with the traditional design skills for a specialist vehicle sector, while remaining adaptable to the new technologies and testing procedures Pailton Engineering has invested in over the past few years.

“Our job specifications show the skills we would like recruits to gain while working at Pailton — not necessarily the abilities they have already mastered,” explained Mariyana Mihaylova, HR officer at Pailton. “We’re investing in training and development and have put schemes in place to help our recruits develop a full array on skills, whether that’s working across numerous machines, or across different software packages.”

Taking the design and development path, the engineer will be responsible for designing and amending steering systems and components using 3D modelling software (Solidworks). Once a part has been produced and assembled by the production team, the design and development engineer with also be responsible for setting up and running sample tests to validate the parts while working closely with customer engineers.

Machine operators work as part of the production team. This role involves producing steering system components by operating CNC machines and other equipment where trained to do so. This is in accordance with the technical drawings supplied by the design team and Pailton’s quality standards.
