Engineering and steel fabrication business, ECS Engineering Services, has appointed Gary Cormack, to the board of directors. Gary will also fill the role of Managing Director while he helps steer the business through its next period of growth. Gary has significant leadership and board level experience, including working as Trading Director for Boots.
Having won several high-profile maintenance and engineering framework contracts for organisations such as the Environment Agency and water authorities from Scottish to Wessex Water, ECS has grown significantly over the last few years. Since moving to purpose-built premises in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, the 50,000 sq. ft. steel fabrication and engineering works has been busy building everything from bridges and weirs to support structures for nuclear power stations.
Chairman of ECS, Bob Nix, was keen to thank his existing personnel for the success the business had enjoyed to date and welcome Gary Cormack to the new role. “I am very grateful for everyone’s contribution so far; we have invested in the business and taken on a wide range of projects that have expanded our remit in almost every area. I am very proud of what we have achieved and pleased that Gary has agreed to join us on the next phase of our growth strategy.”
“It was an important step in our plans to strengthen the board by attracting someone with experience in successfully managing larger businesses. We’re very pleased that Gary has agreed to join us and delighted that he will take the role of Managing Director at ECS. This period will allow him to immerse himself in the business and provide a foundation for his contribution to our organisation going forwards.”
Gary had an equally positive outlook on the news. “I am very excited to be joining a company such as ECS that has already established the cornerstones of successful growth and is ready to take the next step in becoming an important part of developing our national infrastructure. I’m looking forward to supporting its commercial success and being part of such a great business as it grows.”
