Specialised Imaging announces the availability of a new technical report that discusses application of a range of high-speed imaging techniques including flash x-ray, schlieren, and shadowgraph imaging in the field of explosives research.
In March 2018, Dr. Vilem Petr from the Explosives Engineering Office of the Colorado School of Mines (USA), organised an Ultra High Speed Imaging Methods in Explosives Engineering course that was attended by 25 people. Specialised Imaging provided the ultra-high-speed camera equipment and course tutors for part of the course.
The Advanced Explosive Processing Research Group (AXPRO) at Colorado School of Mines is a world leading explosive research and education group of experts. The AXPRO team offers unique academic short courses on new technologies to study detonation, shock wave physics and energetic materials which undergo ultra-high-speed impacts or loads directly related to detonation phenomena.
Dr. Vilem Petr expressed his gratitude to Frank Kosel, Al Febraro and Chris Tenney of Specialised Imaging and Peter Lawrence of L3 Pulse Sciences for their expert knowledge, contributions and tutelage.
As part of the training course the attendees were asked to write technical reports on techniques and subjects that were studied. Specialised Imaging is offering to share these technical reports with the scientific community, which describe the application of a range of high-speed imaging including flash x-ray, schlieren, and shadowgraph imaging techniques.
