Included among the many highlights of the T W Ward CNC Machinery (Ward CNC) ‘Redditch Revealed’ open house at its Redditch-based Midlands & South showroom was the sale of a Hyundai-Wia LV800RM vertical turning lathe (VTL) to Sentinel Manufacturing.

The VTL was among a wide range of high-quality yet cost-effective machines on show at the two-day event – along with a host of complementary manufacturing solutions from Ward CNC’s technology partners – where a continual stream of production engineering decision-makers saw the machines under power and discussed a myriad of technical issues with Ward CNC’s expert applications engineers.

Sentinel Manufacturing’s purchase of the Hyundai-Wia VTL was agreed between Sentinel’s Managing Director Paul James and its Sales & Marketing Manager Alice Guest with Ward CNC’s Area Business Manager, Chris Smith and Commercial Finance Manager, Chris Cooke.

Commenting that the new VTL will add much-need capacity to meet demands for a new contract from a leading international pump manufacturer, Mr James added that two key factors in the purchase were the machine’s ready availability from stock and the attractive finance option offered by Ward CNC.

The machine will join an impressive portfolio of manufacturing technologies at the long-established (since the 19th century!) Shrewsbury-based precision engineering company which holds a number of industry-recognised accreditations, not least BS EN ISO 9001 and the Caterpillar (SQEP) Supplier Quality Excellence Process certification.

“Our new Hyundai-Wia will enhance our already impressive machining capabilities,” added Mr James, “and, going forwards, will undoubtedly prove a valuable addition to our world-class machining and assembly skills, as well as our reputation for best-in-class product development and quality.”

Reflecting on the success of the event, Ward CNC’s Executive Director Stephen Bodsworth affirmed how the Redditch showroom is firmly regarded as a cornerstone (alongside the Sheffield headquarters) in the company’s new five-year ‘Creating and shaping our future 2023’ strategy in which, he said, “growth, transformation and talent management” will continue to enhance the tremendous success of Ward CNC and its customer base”.

Stuart Lawson, Head of Strategic Accounts & Projects at Ward CNC (Midlands & South) added: “While we spent two days showcasing just a small sample of the host of machines that Ward CNC offers from stock, alongside demonstrating the high level of engineering expertise we can offer, ‘Redditch Revealed’ also reinforced that fact that Ward CNC’s doors – in both Sheffield and Redditch – are always open to engineers and companies seeking the most cost-effective ways to cut me

“Ward CNC Midlands & South is now firmly on the map as a convenient venue where companies of every size and with varying production demands and budgets can always enjoy profitable visits and discussions with like-minded professionals.”
