Hampshire, 6th November 2018 – Engineering professionals are feeling optimistic as we approach the end of the year, with application rates in the industry rising by 15.2% in October. That’s according to the latest job market statistics from CV-Library , the UK’s leading independent job site.

The data, which compared figures from October 2018 with those of September 2018, reveals that job vacancies were also on the up, rising by 16.2%. What’s more, the industry made it onto the list of the best sectors for hiring right now:
1. Hospitality – 33.9% increase in applications
2. Design – 31.6% increase in applications
3. Agriculture – 25.9% increase in applications
4. Construction – 22.3% increase in applications
5. Catering – 21% increase in applications
6. Sales – 15.8% increase in applications
7. Legal – 15.2% increase in applications
8. Engineering – 15.2% increase in applications
9. Marketing – 13.1% increase in applications
10. Recruitment – 13.1% increase in applications

Furthermore, not only were applications on the rise last month, but candidate registrations in the engineering industry were also up by a staggering 15.9% month-on-month. This could be as a result of the 1.4% increase in salaries.
