The West of England Aerospace Forum (WEAF) has hailed this year’s Advanced Engineering show a huge success after seeing a large number of enquiries for its NATEP and Aerospace Cornwall projects.
WEAF was also able to engage directly with aerospace companies from around the country which were interested in finding out more about working in the largest aerospace cluster in the UK and second largest in Europe. The south west of England’s aerospace industry is worth more than £7 billion per annum.
Colin Turner, CEO of WEAF said: “We are delighted at the huge numbers of visitors who came to see us. We had a very productive time catching up with familiar faces and meeting new businesses in the aerospace and defense sectors and it was great to showcase our services, especially NATEP and Aerospace Cornwall.
“We have come away from the show with some fantastic leads. We have been exhibiting at Advanced Engineering for several years now and we will continue to do so for many more.”
WEAF represents the whole aerospace and defence supply chain from global OEMs through to SMEs in the south west of England and has increased its membership by 50% in the past 4 years. WEAF’s influence in the industry and south west region has never been higher, a trend which looks likely to continue given the high numbers at WEAF’s stand at Advanced Engineering 2018.
