Northamptonshire jobs boost as nationwide engineering firm opens new Rushden base

Up to 100 skilled jobs are set to be created in Northamptonshire after a major company announced a significant investment in a new engineering and manufacturing facility.

The adi Group, a growing multi-disciplinary engineering firm with nationwide reach, has chosen a base at the Crown Way Industrial Estate in Rushden to launch in May.

The Birmingham-based company looked at several sites before finally selecting Rushden as host to a key element of its ambitious growth and job creation plans due to its proximity to a number of the firm’s current and future key clients.

Its senior management recognised the potential of the new Northamptonshire base to localise the firm’s delivery in more than 30 specialist disciplines by expert engineers from over 20 divisions within the Group.

In the process, adi Group aims to further bolster the long-term partnerships it enjoys with businesses engaged in the food and beverage, manufacturing, automotive, aerospace and defence, pharmaceutical and petrochemical sectors.

Alan Lusty, CEO of adi Group, has high hopes for the new facility.

“Our new Northamptonshire base gives us extra flexibility and enables us to simplify the way we deliver services to our partners in the region,” he said.

“In recent years, we have adopted a proactive approach to achieving our strategic objectives, so this investment is a real expression of not only that but of our confidence in the area to provide the skills we’ll need to exceed the expectations of our customers.

adi Group has been operating in this area for many years but we now believe the time is right to further invest, bringing our services closer to our customer base, as well as allowing us to add value to prospective customers across the East Midlands and down towards London.”

News of the job opportunities is a boost for the Group’s current and potential staff in Northamptonshire, given adi Group’s reputation as an employer.

With over 650 staff delivering services from 11 group locations across the UK and the Republic of Ireland, the firm was recently recognised once again by The Sunday Times’ Best Company workplace engagement programme, achieving a 1* accreditation.

It also holds a gold corporate social responsibility accreditation from EcoVadis, which rates the engineers in the top 1% of the tens of thousands of companies in over 110 countries worldwide whose corporate social responsibility records it assesses each year.

To mark the facility’s opening, the firm will hold a launch event at the 16,000 sq.ft. premises on Thursday 2nd May, welcoming Formula 1 star and Sky Sports commentator, Johnny Herbert, as its special guest, along with journalists and key clients.

Alan said of the event: “We’re all excited and can’t wait for the big day but what animates us perhaps the most are the joint prospects of providing even better solutions more easily for our clients from the new facility, while at the same time creating some great new job opportunities in the Northamptonshire area.”
