Get access to exclusive technical content at WNIE Live 2019 @WhatsNewInElec

What’s New in Electronics Live 2019 delivers the comprehensive event covering the entire spectrum of the electronics industry. With dedicated conferences and exhibition opportunities for the electronics manufacturing, embedded software and test and debug industries, WNIE Live really is the one unmissable event of the year for anyone involved in electronics.

The event runs at brand new location; The NAEC Stoneleigh, in the heart of The Midlands, from 18th – 19th September and is completely free to attend with free parking, onsite accommodation and free wifi throughout the whole venue.

WNIE Live 2019 offers attendees a wealth of exclusive technical content that cannot be accessed elsewhere, and with some sessions available completely free of charge, this really is a not to be missed opportunity.

The Embedded Live conference offers an educational platform for those involved in Embedded Systems and Software and will focus on the innovations and intelligence that are reflecting the trends of the embedded sector.

The seminar has a half day agenda, running on the afternoon of Wednesday 18th September and the morning of Thursday 19th September. It will close on each day with a panel discussion.

Attendees can look forward to the following presentations:

Bringing Security and Intelligence to the IoT Device Edge – Chris Shore, ARM

At Arm TechCon last year, Arm CEO Simon Segars talked about the “5th Wave of Computing”: a world in which computing will be dominated by data and driven by the intelligent devices that process it. Pervasive, always-on connectivity of intelligent devices will, once again, transform the way we interact with the world around us.

Arm and our partners are at the forefront of this next revolution, making technology ever smarter, smaller and more efficient, yet equipped with the performance and security needed to power smart Internet of Things (IoT) devices. This talk will explore some of the technologies that we believe will make that happen and the partner ecosystem of software, tools and resources to make it easier and faster to bring tomorrow’s innovation to market.

Creating Cortex M33 TrustZone software projects: a practical, hands-on guide – Mark Dunnett and Steve Mitchell, NXP

In this practical presentation, Steve Mitchell and Mark Dunnett from Arrow Electronics will demonstrate how to create software projects for ARM Cortex M33 TrustZone.

A wide range of topics will be explained, to include memory mapping and linker considerations (Security Attribution Unit, Implementation-Define Attribution Unit), function entry points, secure gateway and the veneer table, and function calls between the Secure and Non-Secure worlds. Attendees will gain many practical tips and a greater understanding of how TrustZone simplifies software development in security, industrial, medical, appliance and IoT applications.

Secure communication for IoT devices with Mbed TLS – Trevor Martin, Hitex (UK) Ltd

With the growth of IoT networks many embedded developers are faced with the challenge of adding secure communications to Internet facing devices. In this presentation Trevor Martin of Hitex will provide an introduction to the cryptographic algorithms that underpin the Transport Layer Security Protocol. He will also demonstrate how a secure IoT system can be developed using the ARM mbedTSL cryptographic security library and the limitations of a “Plain old Microcontroller”. The MbedTLS security library is a free to use, professionally developed library of security algorithms that are designed for use by a resource limited device.

Registration costs just £95 + VAT including lunch and refreshments. To register, email [email protected] or call 01428 609382

A range of FREE content will also be available during the WNIE Live event.

As part of the WNIE Live seminar programme, Beth Turner MSc (Chemistry) – Development Chemist for Electrolube – Coatings Division, will be delivering exclusive content to our audience with these two sessions:

Application and Utilization of Protective Coatings for Electronic Assemblies

Requirements for the coating of assemblies, classification of coatings, film properties of protective coatings, application methods for protective coatings, avoidance of typical errors during protective coating.

Electronics Protection: New generation conformal coatings for the harshest environments

A presentation covering the different types of coating available, how to select the most suitable product for your application, examples of collaborative solutions for a range of applications and examples of how EL work closely with customers.

Finally our WNIE TV roundtable debates and interviews will cover a range of pertinent industry topics. The full schedule is available at https://www.wnie.co.uk/forums/

In an online world this is a unique opportunity to see, hear and touch What’s New in Electronics, with access to information you won’t find anywhere else!
