RFID specialists continuing to hit the heights with new engineering and crane client

CoreRFID has added Scottish Crane and Engineering Services to its growing industry client list.

The RFID based software firm, which specialises in the lifting and hoists industry, has delivered inspection systems for Anderco Lifting, CraneCare and Izumi this year.

Scottish Crane and Engineering Services will be using CoreRFID’s CheckedOK solution to enable faster, more streamlined and cost effective LOLER inspections, risk assessments, method statements, service and repairs.

The service repair module automatically time stamps job sheets to calculate labour and materials costs and charge out rates for invoicing.  Travel time is also recorded to produce expense claims and timesheets.

Reports and certification are immediately available for viewing online and download by users as soon as data is entered onsite via a tablet.  It is then transmitted to a secure hosted database.

CheckedOK was initially designed in response to the challenges faced by Hoistech, Ireland’s leading manufacturer of custom made solutions for materials handling, lifting gear and construction plant.

Since being first developed 10 years ago, CheckedOK has been the subject of on-going investment and development to meet new industry and regulatory requirements. In Ireland alone it has generated over 4 million inspection reports to date.

Scottish Crane and Engineering Services is one of largest and longest established firms designing, manufacturing, conducting risk assessments and servicing cranes and associated lifting equipment north of the border. Its clients include Rolls-Royce and Alexander Dennis, the UK’s biggest bus builder.

Dougie Henderson, works manager at Scottish Crane and Engineering Services comments: ‘CheckedOK impressed us from the very first demo. Its capabilities meet our needs very closely and so moving to the new system was quick and smooth. We’re looking forward to seeing the benefits the system will give our business.’

Munzi Ali, technical director at CoreRFID comments: ‘CheckedOK delivers greater operational speed and accuracy than paper-based systems can offer. Crane operators and suppliers which automate their reporting systems give themselves a real competitive advantage with quantifiable improvements in their operations.’

Ali continues: ‘We’ve established a fantastic crane and lifting client base using CheckedOK across the UK and Ireland, but less so in Scotland. Our work with Scottish Crane marks a significant step in establishing ourselves north of the border.’

CoreRFID’s crane, hoists and lifting clients include Just Rigging & Inspection and Straightpoint; multinational clients include ICL, Serco and Hyster-Yale.
