Leading brands from Altra Industrial Motion Corp. will be displaying innovative solutions for powered agricultural equipment at Agritechnica: the world’s premier farming machinery trade fair. Visitors to the event can meet with experts from Guardian, Jacobs Vehicle Systems, Stieber, Stromag, Thomson and Warner Electric to discuss their application requirements.

Increasing demand for vehicle efficiency juxtaposed against the need to maximise power and yield is presenting agricultural OEMs with engineering challenges. The brands within Altra Industrial Motion Corp. offer end-customers the opportunity to specify individual components or complete sub-assemblies. Altra’s engineered solutions help to maximise power delivery within reduced space (increasing power density), reduce vehicle emissions, minimise weight and optimise engine unit performance. OEMs can therefore meet tightening emissions standards in a cost-effective manner, while still delivering the increased power and yield demanded by operators.
New for the event, Stromag will be highlighting its KHE hydraulic clutch design, which delivers a 15% weight reduction while providing a 20% increase in transmittable torque. Stromag will also focus on its SSC steel flywheel coupling, designed to provide consistent performance at higher engine temperatures than a natural rubber variant. Electromagnetic clutches designed to deliver power savings on auxiliary vehicle systems from Warner Electric will also be on stand.
In addition, Thomson will launch the new Electrak MD electric linear actuator during the event. Offering exceptional power density, this compact smart actuator is highly controllable and durable in application, exerting a force up to 2000 newtons. The brand will also display its range of rugged linear actuators which are able to exert forces up to 22,000 newtons, while eliminating the leakage risks and long installation times associated with hydraulic cylinders.
Leveraging its position as a global provider of engine braking, valvetrain and cylinder deactivation technologies for commercial vehicle OEMs, engineers from Jacobs Vehicle Systems will be on stand to explain how its systems can benefit the agricultural industry. Of particular interest to stand visitors will be its fulcrum bridge technology, which integrates engine braking directly into valvetrains equipped with hydraulic lash adjusters – optimising total cost of ownership for engine operators.
Agritechnica 2019 takes place from the 10th – 16th November at Hanover Messe, Hanover, Germany. Altra Industrial Motion Corp. will be available in Hall 15 on Stand G24 throughout the event.
