A Hertfordshire prototyping company is urging businesses to join the fight against coronavirus by pledging support to build ventilators for the NHS.Ogle Models & Prototypes, based in Birds Hill, has answered the Government’s call for businesses to help build ventilators and ventilator components as part of the UK’s response to COVID-19.
Philip Martin, Director at Ogle Models & Prototypes, said the company’s wide range of industrial 3D printing processes meant they were ideally placed to help. And he called on other businesses to get involved and offer their services if they could.
He said: “The production of ventilators to help the NHS is a national priority. We urge other businesses who have the capability or capacity to help, whether it’s connected to design, manufacturing or supply, to sign up, too.”
For more than 65 years Ogle has played a vital role in the development of technical advances that have changed our daily lives, from cordless phones to electric cars.
It was one of the first companies in the UK to embrace SLA (stereolithography) technology – now the most widely-used additive process for prototypes and parts due to its speed, finish and accuracy. Ogle also specialises in SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) and vacuum casting, the main processes utilised in the medical industry for product development and end use parts.
Ogle already has a long history of working with clients to produce medical device prototypes, using its expertise with these cutting-edge 3D printing technologies to guarantee fast and accurate product development.
