The Chatterbox-e from DMS Metering, an opto-isolation unit, with increased reliability and reduced power consumption. With long-life battery which provides dependable usage for up to 10 years. Once installed the Chatterbox-e needs no power supply, this allows the unit to run without disruption.
The Chatterbox-e provides volt-free isolation between meters generating pulsed outputs in a hazardous area and for equipment that is not safe and located outside of the unsafe hazardous area
This unit is made from high quality materials, including its weatherproof aluminium housing, the encloser is IP66 rated. This Isolation unit is suitable for rugged environments, and it has three separate inputs, which are usually used as one to suit the pulsed inputs and the other two for the outputs from the unit.
The isolation unit has four channels for accepting pulses in and sending pulses out, which can be split to provide a dual output. (Using internal switches). There is no corrector or meter setting required. As soon as he Chatterbox-e received a pulse, a 220ms isolated output pulse is generated.
The Chatterbox-e is Compliant to UK Institute of Gas Engineers Editions 1 & 2 “Electrical Connections to Gas Meters” and USA Article 500 of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA-70 (NEC)”
