Statement from Lenze CEO Christian Wendler regarding the cancellation of the SPS 2020 trade fair

Lenze supports the cancellation of this year’s SPS and continues its digital offensive in order to stay in dialogue with its customers.

Christian Wendler, Lenze CEO, commented today on the cancellation of the SPS 2020: “The previous months have clearly shown to all of us that the health and safety of our fellow citizens must always have the highest priority over economic concerns. Lenze therefore welcomes Mesago’s very responsible decision not to let SPS 2020 take place as planned.

As a globally positioned company, we appreciate the international orientation of SPS and the opportunity to exchange ideas with customers, partners, and companies from all over the world. We are therefore pleased that the digital platform SPS Connect will provide a forum for interaction that is open for dialogue worldwide, irrespective of any travel restrictions. We will be happy to use this platform extensively!

In addition, we will surprise our customers in the coming months with a series of digital and partly hybrid events. Independently of our participation in important industry trade fairs such as SPS, we have launched numerous new topics over the past few months that provide our customers with a decisive competitive advantage, especially in view of the current challenges. For example, we are taking digital engineering to another level with new tools such as our Easy System Designer, we are developing customized system solutions in partnership with our customers, and with the x500/X4Remote we offer an edge computing solution with the associated data services for remote access to machines.

From October, our webcasts on the latest trends in mechanical engineering will also start again. We are particularly pleased to demonstrate the added value of our digital solutions and services in this digital format for the first time together with selected customers using concrete use cases. This and much more is something our customers can look forward to.

However, despite all the creativity surrounding alternative or new digital formats, one thing is certain: the economy needs trade fairs for a new start, and Lenze also needs high-quality forums such as the SPS to promote customer dialogue at all levels. We are therefore looking forward to hopefully being able to welcome customers, business partners and interested visitors to our Lenze stand again next year under different circumstances and, above all, with greater planning certainty.”
