Judges reviewing the 21st Energy Institute awards have crowned Bedford based Midas Pattern Company winners

In the Energy Management category, their project, ‘The Midas Green Initiative: A Manufacturer’s drive to become Process Carbon Neutral’ took first place amongst some stiff competition.

With over 120 entries from 27 countries, this globally recognised competition received projects from Dubai Electricity & Water Authority, Nottingham County Council, and Shell Tilburg. To be shortlist selection was a major achievement, but to win was testimony to hard work, clear vision and pure determination by the 75 strong moulding company.

The Energy Institute awards showcase organisations, projects and individuals of excellence in the energy sector. The Midas entry impressed judges with the high-level of management commitment, innovation and potential shown. Evidence of clearly defined targets and a carbon and energy reduction strategy, along with staff training and knowledge sharing, was key to their success.

Overwhelmed with the award, Midas will celebrate their success when times allow but are grateful for the platform and further opportunity to raise awareness. To show how small UK manufacturing companies can make a difference and help stall climate change.

Alan Rance, Midas MD comments,

‘In recognising the outstanding work by the Midas Green Team, you have enabled us to encourage other companies to do all that they can to reach carbon neutrality in their worlds.’

With climate change rising fast on the agenda for both consumers and legislators, not only have Midas given themselves and their customers a head start, they have protected their manufacturing future. As the race to net-zero accelerates, Midas are proud to be leading the charge for reaction injection moulding.
