The UK’s first App dedicated to the identification of chain continues to be a popular tool for engineers five years after it was first launched.
Donghua Limited, the UK arm of one of the world’s largest chain manufacturers, developed the App in 2016 to provide a tool to help engineers identify chain when on-site.
Bob Wellsbury, managing director of Donghua Limited and the driving force behind this unique tool, explains: “These days there’s an App for everything, so why not Chain? We receive many calls from engineers who need help to identify the right replacement chain for a piece of equipment, so we converted the existing Chain ID Tool on our website into an App. It captures key information from which we quickly and easily identify chain. Customers have loved the convenience of the App as they can use it anywhere.”
The Chain ID App helps identify Leaf chain, Agricultural chain and attachments, Conveyor Chain, standard Roller chain and attachments and Drive Chain Calculations. Future updates to the App can be automatically downloaded to a user’s device as they become available.
