ELECTRIFYING TRANSPORTATION IN EMERGING MARKETS. POTENZA TECHNOLOGY AND FPT INDUSTRIAL PARTNER WITH OX DELIVERS AT COP26 IN GLASGOW

FPT Industrial and its subsidiary Potenza Technology are the battery pack solution providers for the electric Ox truck that has been showcased on November 10 at the UK Presidency Pavilion on Transport Day at COP26, the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties, being held in Glasgow from 31 October to 12 November 2021.

Consistent with their commitment to electrification and emissions reduction Potenza Technology, and parent company FPT Industrial, are delivering on their experience and expertise in High Voltage Battery Packs to provide the ideal solution for the OX EV Truck, the only purpose-designed EV for emerging markets.

The world’s first vehicle that is shipped flat packed, the electric OX truck has a cargo payload of 1,800 kg and volume of 8.8 m3 and has been purpose-designed to navigate the extreme terrain conditions that are found in emerging markets.
The electric OX truck enables OX Delivers to provide transport-as-a-service on a pay-as-you-go basis, meaning customers can get their goods to market and trade equitably. Driving prosperous trade in rural emerging markets will unlock opportunities and local economic growth.

In addition to providing affordable and reliable transport, the electric OX truck supports the Sustainable Development Goal focused on reducing pollution and CO2 emissions. Two under-floor battery packs, supplied by Potenza Technology and FPT Industrial, offers a 200 km fully laden range and can easily be recharged through solar panels, with no fossil-fuel systems involved, resulting in zero tailpipe emissions and ultra-low energy costs.

Potenza Technology is the UK electric vehicle battery research and development centre for FPT Industrial, a brand of CNH Industrial, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of commercial vehicles. Based in Coventry, Potenza has been established for 20 years and is at the forefront of electric vehicle design, research and development. They have extensive experience in the design, build and integration of high voltage systems and batteries for automotive applications, across a range of industry sectors including automotive, motorsport, marine and aerospace.
