~Novotek UK and Ireland officially opens Leeds offices and innovation centre~
Industrial automation specialist Novotek UK and Ireland has officially opened its office in Leeds, following a two-day open event that brought industry experts together. Alongside office space, the new UK headquarters at Hawthorn Park features an innovation centre of excellence showcasing the latest automation hardware and software. With this, Novotek aims to accelerate uptake of new technologies among UK businesses.
Novotek UK and Ireland, part of the Sweden-based Novotek Group, first invested in the Leeds office in 2019 to support manufacturers and utilities companies in the area. The company has now relocated its headquarters from its previous location in Glasgow in order to further support businesses in the burgeoning industrial spaces across the north of England and the Midlands.
The two-day launch event was attended by specialists from Novotek’s partners GE Digital and Emerson Automation, both of which are global experts in industrial automation and data management. During the visit, the partners found out how examples of their products and systems will be used in a functional simulation in the centre of excellence.
“Digitalisation, Industry 4.0 and other concepts explaining connected industrial technologies have captured the imagination of business leaders in recent years,” explained George Walker, managing director of Novotek UK and Ireland. “However, these ideas have also been confined to, and limited by, imagination. It can be hard for people to really see what’s possible when it’s driven by non-physical processes.
“By having a mix of demonstrations and simulations that blend edge technology and software in a range of interesting application areas, our centre of excellence gives people a way of seeing what’s possible with a fresh perspective. Rather than business leaders imagining what could be done, we can show them what can be done — and then they only need imagine what their specific operations can achieve.”
Novotek’s innovation centre of excellence is currently being set up to provide realistic application demonstrations in a secure environment, with systems being set up to run accurate simulations of specific operations and processes. The aim is for these demonstrations to allow Novotek to collaborate with customers interested in everything from data exploration and analytics to new edge hardware, without affecting an industrial company’s established processes.
Industrial businesses interested in seeing new industrial hardware and software in action can speak with the Novotek UK and Ireland team to be notified when the systems are set up. Alternatively, to discuss the potential for these technologies in operations, call the team on +44 (0)1135 312 400.
