As with all 5 Star flight cases and foam inserts, our custom-built packing crates are CNC-machined for accuracy and repeatability and feature sprung metal clasps to secure the individual panels to each other as well as heavy-duty castors for easier transportation without the need for a dolly or hand truck.
As every single component is vital, 5 Star works with leading flight case and crating hardware manufacturer Penn Elcom because they produce the highest quality steel products, ensuring maximum performance, reliability and durability. Penn Elcom’s spring locks, for example, have been custom designed to allow secure fastening of our crates, particularly those that need to be reused or retained for the return of goods, but also allow ease of opening once the crate has reached its destination. The spring design allows for tolerance in the wood to minimise damage to the crate panels and other crating components, and are easier to use than conventional screw fixings.
