Technical PR agency, Stone Junction has given four interns permanent contracts after they joined its internship scheme in 2021. The four graduates came from diverse marketing and STEM backgrounds.
Becky Snow, Stacie Plast, Aurelia Michael and Zmina Hawthorne all joined Stone Junction last year on three-month internships. After impressing, each of them helped prove the value of the internship scheme Stone Junction runs each year.
Possessing strong scientific backgrounds, Snow holds a first-class honours degree in Biological Science and a master’s degree in Molecular Biology while Michael holds an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Meanwhile, Plast graduated from Staffordshire University with a BA (Hons) in English Literature and Creative Writing while Hawthorne joined Stone Junction in January 2022, a year after completing her Postgraduate qualification in Public Relations at Birmingham City University.
“Since Stone Junction started, part of our culture has been to give graduates a chance to prove themselves. Too many companies are solely focussed on experience in recruitment, but it’s the quality of each day’s experience that counts,” explained Richard Stone.
“In the current economic climate, I think it’s important to give young people the opportunity to kickstart their careers and we are certain that we can ensure that each day they have is quality experience.
“Some of Stone Junction’s most successful, longest-standing team members were graduates when they first started. A great attitude and a willingness to learn can often trump industry experience,” he continued. Stone Junction has an extensive benefits scheme and heavy focus on employee welfare which often attracts interns.
