Leading micro molding specialist Accumold is pleased to announce that it will be contributing to the International Microtechnology Business Network (IVAM) event “Europe meets USA 2022” to be held 30th June.
The event is aimed at life science companies and research institutions along the entire value chain from technology developers, component manufacturers, software, testing and analytics companies, to medical device manufacturers and users. Presentations and discussions will address current issues related to micro-technology and micro-engineered products for life science applications.
Where can microtechnological components solve the challenges of the modern health system? How can modern products, such as mobile point-of-care diagnostics, wearables, smart implants or vaccines and drugs, produced in microfluidic systems, be developed, manufactured, and used sustainably and cost-effectively? How can European and American companies cooperate to become more competitive in the global market?
Aaron Johnson, VP of Marketing and Customer Strategy at Accumold says, “Accumold is delighted to have been asked to contribute to this important virtual event which will focus on stimulating the collaboration between component manufacturers, device makers and users from Europe and the U.S., as well as initiating joint R&D projects and exchanging experiences on the challenges of the respective markets. Accumold will present as a success story of a company from the United States entering the European market. Accumold is perhaps the world’s largest and most experienced micro molding company, headquartered in Iowa, USA which now has a global customer base and a significant share of the precision molding business centred in Europe. As a bellwether for companies looking to expand into foreign geographies, we can advise of the opportunities and pitfalls that exist, and can indicate how real and sustainable business initiatives can be realised in a cost and time effective way.”
In the area of micro molding, it is all about heritage. Since 1985, Accumold has been pioneering the art and science of micro molding, and is acknowledged as the world leader when it comes to the manufacture of extraordinarily small plastic parts that require extreme precision — typically measured in microns. The company is adept at the production of small-sized parts with micro features from 5 cm to less than 1 mm, and has specific expertise in insert molding, two-shot molding, and cleanroom molding using an array of materials including PEEK, LCP, and most engineering thermoplastics.
The company is unique in that it is truly vertically integrated, and as such it is able to operate as a one-stop partner in the development and manufacture of medical devices and components. Under one roof, Accumold offers design and material assistance, micro tool fabrication, proprietary micro molding services, cutting-edge metrology, assembly, and automation, and this facilitates the streamlining of a customer’s product development process, and the attainment of optimal outcomes in terms of timeliness, cost, and accuracy.
Johnson concludes, “While as a company we have a long and highly respected pedigree, we have to navigate the route to securing business opportunities in different geographies in the same way as every other company, big or small, experienced or inexperienced. We hope that the issues we will be discussing at the IVAM event will illuminate the path that needs to be travelled to ensure business growth and business success in foreign geographies for our peers in the micro technology sector.”
“Europe meets USA 2022” will be held via Zoom 15.45 – 18.30 CET 30th June 2022, and interested parties can register for the event HERE.
