We are delighted to announce that our Technical Engineering Apprentice Aman Athwal has been awarded Apprentice of the Year in the category of Engineering & Manufacturing at this year’s West Yorkshire Apprenticeship awards.
The event took place at Bradford City Football Club on Thursday 9th June, where guests enjoyed a drinks reception, 3 course dinner, and a very special awards ceremony hosted by Journalist and Broadcaster Harry Gration MBE, and Harpreet Kaur, winner of BBC’s The Apprentice 2022.
Aman Athwal said: “I am absolutely delighted to have won Engineering & Manufacturing Apprentice of the Year. I’m really proud to have bought this award home both for the company and my family, who I know are proud of me. I have gone above and beyond at Bowers Group and it’s great to have that recognised.”
Since the start of his apprenticeship at Bowers Group, Aman has been a fantastic credit to the team in Bradford, and an integral part of the success of the new digital external micrometer, the DigiMic. Aman is dedicated to his studies as an apprentice and has completed no less than 4 engineering qualifications in his time at Bowers Group. In addition, he’s been a driving force behind numerous ideas to improve health and safety, and charity work.
Bowers Group Training and Recruitment Manager John Crabtree said: “We are extremely proud of Aman and wish him many congratulations on this fantastic achievement. He’s a credit to the business, and a fantastic example of how valuable apprenticeships are not only to the younger generation, but to many businesses across the region.”
With apprenticeship uptake on the rise, Bowers Group has significant hopes for the future and is looking forward to supporting many more taking that first into the engineering and manufacturing sector.
