Delta, a global leader in power and thermal management solutions, today announced its UFC 200 Ultra Fast EV Chargers were selected by Mobilize Power Solutions for the testing phase and press launch of the new Renault Megane E-TECH 100% Electric.
The UFC 200 Ultra Fast EV Charger, which offers power output up to 200kW, was used in the development phase of the Megane E-TECH 100% Electric to evaluate the charging behaviour at Renault’s Technocentre. The UFC 200 also supported the EV charging infrastructure in Malaga, Spain, utilized for the press launch of the new electric vehicle.
Mobilize Power Solutions is an affiliate of Groupe Renault and specializes in charging solutions. Nicolas Schottey, CEO of Mobilize Power Solutions, said, “We are very excited about the advanced technology incorporated in the new Renault Megane E-TECH 100% Electric. It marks a major shift in gears for our electric revolution. Working in parallel with our trusted and long-term partner Delta, has enabled us to explore its experience and knowledge of advanced power management solutions. Mobilize Power Solutions helps its customers make the shift to electric mobility by offering the best suited charging solutions, adapted to their needs.”
Vincent Lin, senior director of e-Mobility & Smart Energy Solutions business development at Delta Electronics EMEA region, added, “With its range of flexible and efficient EV chargers and its decades of experience working with the automotive industry, Delta is increasingly being chosen as the EV charger supplier by several leading vehicle manufacturers. The use of the UFC 200 in the development and press launch of the Renault Megane E-TECH 100% Electric furthers our existing relationship with Mobilize Power Solutions. It also shows the role Delta can play, which ranges from providing charging solutions for end users to supporting the early stages of an EV’s development.”
The Megane E-TECH 100% Electric is Renault’s latest response to the growing demand for EVs with its brand new wound rotor synchronous motor for near-silent operation and efficiency. During its development, the UFC 200 proved to be capable of effortlessly delivering successive simultaneous charging for four cars, as well as being extremely durable and capable of withstanding extreme heat and bright sunlight during the testing phase.
With the success of the UFC 200’s performance during the development of the Megane E-TECH 100% Electric – and Mobilize Power Solutions’ confidence in its performance – it was used to create the charging infrastructure needed to support the car’s press launch in Malaga, Spain. During the event, the UFC 200 was performed faultlessly while charging up to 40 cars. Between five and six cars were charged during the day at 200kWh, with night time charging sessions conducted with AC chargers.
The collaboration between Delta and Mobilize Power Solutions unites two best-of-breed organisations and supports their broader green Initiatives and long-term goals to be carbon neutral organisations. Mobilize Power Solutions’ decision to partner with Delta is a reflection of not just the excellence of its charging solutions, but also on the global resources Delta has and its experience of being a long-term trusted supplier to Renault and the automotive industry.
