NORD DRIVESYSTEMS has developed its NORDAC ON decentralised frequency inverter series for lower power ranges up to 2.2 kW. The inverter is characterised by an integrated Ethernet interface, full pluggability and a very compact design.
NORD has designed the new frequency inverters for the requirements of horizontal conveyor technology. They will be available in two product series, optimised specifically for combination with NORD motors:
• NORDAC ON was designed for applications with asynchronous motors,
• NORDAC ON+ for combination with highly efficient synchronous motors.
Both versions are available in three sizes for power ranges up to 2.2 kW. Both also offer an integrated
Ethernet interface, which enables easy setting of the desired communication protocol, be it ProfiNET,
EtherNET IP or EtherCAT. This makes the NORDAC ON ideally suited for integration into modern IloT
environments. Additionally, the equipment comprises a diagnostic interface, four digital inputs and, with the NORDAC ON+, an additional protocol-based encoder interface that is well protected against interference.
Economical Plug & Play solution
The compact decentralised inverters are ideally suited for integration into conveyor systems and thus save
space as well the extensive motor cable wiring required for centralised frequency inverters. With all its pluggable connections, NORDAC ON presents an economical Plug & Play solution for Post & Parcel and Warehouse applications.
As with all NORD frequency inverters, the NORDAC ON is equipped with a powerful PLC for functions close to the drive. It can process data from connected sensors and actuators, autonomously initiate control sequences and communicate drive and application data to the control centre, networked components or to cloud storage. This allows a continuous conditioning monitoring (Condition monitoring) and thereby creates the basis for predictive maintenance concepts (Predictive Maintenance) as well as optimum plant dimensioning.
Also for deep-freeze applications and food industry
Functional safety functions like STO and internal braking resistors for dynamic start/stop processes are optionally available for all NORDAC ON models. Where the inverter cannot be mounted on the motor, either by desire or by space restriction, it may be wall mounted close to the drive.
With its temperature range of tolerance of -30 up to +40 C the NORDAC ON is also suited for deep-freeze applications with the optional corrosion-resistant nsd tupH surface treatment for use in the food industry.
