~ Motors and VSDs for hazardous area operations will be demonstrated ~
Global motors and drives manufacturer, WEG will exhibit at Hazardex Live! which will be held at the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate, UK, between 1- 2 March 2023. Exhibiting at stand 27, WEG will demonstrate its flameproof W22Xd motor, which is designed to meet the latest market requirements and certifications for hazardous areas. It will also demonstrate several high-performing and energy-efficient variable speed drives (VSDs).
Hazardex Live! 2023 is celebrating its 21st anniversary. The two-day conference is the original industry event for safety professionals concerned with protecting their workers, processes and production facilities from hazards. It promises to be another well-attended event, with a varied and quality conference programme focussed on hazardous area operations and process safety.
Hazardous area motors are one of WEG’s main areas of expertise. The specialist will demonstrate its range of medium and high voltage W22Xd motors at Hazardex Live!, which are flame- and explosion-proof motors designed for dangerous applications.
The W22Xd meets the latest market requirements and certifications. They include the European ATEX marking, a standard framework set for explosion protection in all EU member states, and the Global IECEx marking for the international trade of equipment and services for use in explosive atmospheres. Advantages of the W22Xd range include high efficiency, low noise and vibration levels.
“WEG provides a large range of hazardous area motors,” explained Marek Lukaszczyk, WEG’s marketing manager for Europe and the Middle East. “WEG can supply motors built to customers’ exact specifications, which can operate at an extreme range of temperatures up to +40 and down to -20 degrees Celsius. The W22Xdb line is designed according to the most demanding standards in the world, and offers one of the most comprehensively-rated output versus frame size ratios available on the market.”
WEG will also demonstrate its range of VSDs at Hazardex Live!. They are designed to offer increased power density and speed control for industrial applications. WEG’s VSDs are shown to help maintain the environment and greatly improve efficiency in applications like oil and gas, mining, material handling, food and beverage, water supply and chemical processing.
“WEG’s VSDs offer higher levels of performance and energy efficiency,“ continued Lukaszczyk. “They can be easily installed, help streamline customers’ operations and through their energy saving motors they contribute towards conserving the environment. WEG offers a comprehensive range of VSDs for all applications from the miniature CFW100 drive to the new CFW900.
“At Hazardex Live!, our specialist engineers will be available at stand 27 to consult attendees on their motor requirements.”
