IET Venues announces summer investment projects @TheIET @IETvenues

IET Venues is announcing two summer upgrade projects across both of its sites, IET London: Savoy Place and IET Birmingham: Austin Court, taking place from July 2019, as part of its continued facilities investment.

IET London: Savoy Place’s Riverside Room will undergo a £280k upgrade to further enhance the rooms state-of-the-art AV and event offering.

This will see the installation of two 4k video walls and two 4k LED screens, allowing the room to be used in full landscape format meaning every delegate will have full visibility. New cameras will allow speakers or presenters to be filmed from any angle and live relayed onto all screens in the room. New cutting-edge video mapping software will also be used to compose and manage multiple content across the screens. Enhancements to the audio system allows for multiple mapping of the sound to different zones within the building, including the roof terrace.

The upgrades to the large flat floor riverside room (180 cabaret capacity) will have no end of benefits to delegates and event organisers alike. The screens will offer a reduction in set-up time and cost as they’ll be completely programmable as well as offering better branding and display options.

IET Birmingham: Austin Court will also undergo significant investment over the summer with more than £480k in redevelopments, including upgrades to the Kingston Theatre.

As part of the upgrades, the 150 seated capacity theatre will be transformed into a live event space with improved AV and tech including new state of the art sound system. Two new HD projection walls either side of the stage will increase client brand marketing opportunities and new LED coloured lighting make the room the perfect space for product launches, lectures, award ceremonies, presentations and training.

Sean Spencer, Head of IET Venues and Facilities says: “We’re constantly re-evaluating, upgrading and staying ahead of the game and the significant investment we have secured for this summer is another example of how we are future proofing our venues for our members and guests.

“We really want to give everyone who uses these venues the best possible experience when attending events and conferences with us. In addition to the AV upgrades we have also developed new dining and conferencing packages to showcase the investments and further enhance our event offering.”

Both venues are available to book now and work starts across the venues in July. Austin Court and the Riverside Room at Savoy Place will be open for events from September 2019.
