Black country company helps Endurance Vehicle Solutions kit out new £400,000 workshop

Lifting and brake testing experts TotalKare has secured a major contract to help a new force in contract hire and rental solutions for specialist commercial vehicles kit out its dedicated workshop.

The Halesowen-based company has supplied Endurance Vehicle Solutions (EVS) with a mobile braker tester and two sets of four T8DC mobile column lifts as part of an overall £400,000 investment in its HQ, giving the firm lifting capacity of 30,000kg per set and complete flexibility to complete maintenance, service and repairs at its Chepstow site.

Transformation of one of its warehouses has also seen EVS purchase trailer beam and transmission jack ancillary products and these, together with the T8DC’s adjustable wheel forks, will help it cater for a wide range of best in class Euro 6 vehicles, including 18-tonne skip loaders, 32-tonne hook lifts, Refuse Collection Vehicles, Water Tankers and Johnson Road Sweepers.

“We all have extensive experience in the sector and knew there was an opportunity to launch a business that would offer main dealer standards with flexible maintenance solutions,” explained James Mulligan, Operations Director at Endurance Vehicle Solutions.

“Demand for our services meant we quickly needed our own facility that could look after all our vehicles and customers to ensure excellent performance and minimal downtime.”

He continued: “We had a blank canvas with the workshop and wanted the very best, which is why we turned to TotalKare to help us with the lifting and brake testing side of things. The technical experts it has are second to none and guided us through the options until we arrived at the products that best suited our requirements for high-performance, durability and, importantly, flexibility.

“In particular, doing our own brake testing in-house will deliver sizeable cost savings for us in the medium to long-term.

“As a new business, it could have been a challenge recruiting some of our own technicians. However, having the best equipment in place in our workshop, is a real selling point and a clear indication we are serious about being market leaders.”

Endurance Vehicle Solutions (EVS), which was started by industry experts James Mulligan, Neil Jeremiah and Alan Ockenden, has already created eight new jobs after seeing demand for its fleet soar in its first six months.

In addition to its growing fleet, EVS’ workshop is ideally situated to look after the workshop requirements of customers from Gloucestershire, the South West and Wales.

The firm already has contracts in place to support 200 trailers, tractor units and box vans for clients involved in distribution, logistics and municipal work. This covers service inspections, RFL, MOT, tyre provision and full UK 24/7, 365-day breakdown cover.

George Georgiou, Regional Sales Manager for TotalKare, added his support: “We had worked with Neil and James in their previous roles so it was great to have the opportunity to support them with their new and very exciting enterprise.

“Endurance Vehicle Solutions needed a quick and comprehensive response to its escalating requirements for the new workshop and we delivered with a package of lifting solutions and brake testing that gives it ultimate flexibility with vehicles and output.”

He continued: “All of the operatives have been trained on using our equipment safely and getting the most out of them. Our ‘AfterKare’ service package has also been purchased, including two service visits a year and Reports of Through Examination.”

James concluded: “TotalKare’s professional support meant that our workshop was fitted out in a timely manner and we have ambitious investment plans to support the next stage of our growth.”

TotalKare is the UK’s number one supplier of heavy-duty vehicle lifting/testing solutions and aftersales care, providing four and two post lifts, forklifter ramp systems and a comprehensive suite of ancillary products, including transmission jacks, trailer beams and support stands.

The company also launched its new brake tester range earlier this year, the first time the business has introduced non-lifting products to its portfolio. It quickly followed this up with the introduction of headlamp testing equipment at Coach & Bus UK.
