Trade show retrospect: Nabtesco at SPS 2019
This year Nabtesco, the world’s biggest manufacturer of cycloidal gears, again presented numerous innovations in Nuremberg – and earned the enthusiasm of the visiting international experts.
“Precise”, “compact”, “robust” – with these words the new 30-60 kg robot QIROX QRC-30/60-PL from CLOOS welcomed visitors to the Nabtesco booth at this year’s SPS. The six-axis articulated arm robot was exemplary for the numerous industrial robots that perform their work with high precision and reliability thanks to gearbox solutions from Nabtesco. As the world market leader for robotic gearboxes (market share: 60 percent) the cycloidal gear specialist knows the exact requirements for the single robot axes and, in close cooperation with robot manufacturers, develops custom solutions that are exactly tailored to the particular application.
Positive trade show outcome

Innovations in gearboxes and corrosion protection
To optimally meet the ever increasing customer requirements, Nabtesco continuously develops its gearbox portfolio. For example, the successful RS series has been expanded to include an additional size. The new RS-50A rotary indexer positions workpieces weighing up to 1.5 tons with high precision and features a compact design and a robust and durable construction. The space-saving hollow middle axis facilitates the routing of cables and supply lines through the middle of the gearbox. An interface is provided for servo motors from different manufacturers. Nabtesco also presented innovations in the area of corrosion protection, such as SSC-Coat, a variant that is both effective and stylish.
Sales network expanded
At SPS Nabtesco also announced a new addition to the company’s sales and service network: In 2020 the British distributor R.A. Rodriguez (UK) Limited will join the international family of distributors. For more than 40 years R.A. Rodriguez has been a supplier of high-quality precision components and offers a comprehensive pallet of solutions for high-end applications – which makes the company a perfect partner for Nabtesco in the United Kingdom. After all, the motto “The perfect fit” applies not only to precision gearboxes from Nabtesco, but also to the entire enterprise. “With R.A. We value the high level of technical expertise and extensive experience, and look forward to working with the company in the future”, concluded Obladen.
