As you are all aware the Coronavirus is escalating quickly and as a result, you may have questions in relation to Quantum Controls and the level of support we can provide to help your business keep operational through this difficult period.
We are implementing a full plan to ensure our business remains fully operational and that we maintain our 24/7 engineer on call support to all our contract partners throughout the UK.The government is advising that they expect the effects of the virus to last for three months with a peak and decrease within that period. Official advice is estimating that up to 50-80% of the country will catch the virus, this will mean a self-isolation period of two weeks.
During this period it is practical to assume a similar percentage of our staff (and of course your engineers) will have the need to self-isolate and to minimise the risk to our staff and clients we have already implemented a self-certification process for our engineers. This means that a self-certification document will be filled in prior to any site visit. If any of our engineers fail any aspect of the self-certification then they will not be able to attend.
With immediate effect it is now mandatory for each member of our customer facing staff, sales and service engineers, to fill in the self-certification on a weekly basis to ensure they are compliant and safe to access customers sites. Copies of our self-certification documents for all our staff will be issued for planned visits to site.
We are confident with these measures implemented we will always have the minimum 4 engineers available to be on call at any one time, note we have 25 engineers UK wide.
Even with these procedures in place we expect that some of our staff will need to self-certify for 14 days, but due to the large numbers of qualified engineers we have, we will have sufficient resource to maintain our levels of service and legally complying to the working time directive. This all contributes towards the service you enjoy as a Quantum Customer, putting us in a unique position to ensure our customer support service will be maintained throughout this period.
We also have contingency plans to move resource within the various company departments to front line service support, ensuring we are here to keep your plant running which will become more critical as you lose engineering staff due to inevitable self-isolation periods.
Our contract partners have priority over engineer support, engineer to site call out and first access to our rental drives. Over 1500 rental drives ex stock, 415v, 690v and 3.3kV voltages up to 1.5 Mega Watt power ratings.
We have also increased our drives and motor stock profiles by 40% over last two weeks, we now have ABB, Danfoss and Schneider Drives ex stock throughout our branches in the UK, drives in quantities up 500kW power rating and ABB motors 2 and 4 pole, foot mounted and flange mounted up to 250kW.
We are already seeing an increase in the levels of support requests and the number of rental drives that are being dispatched to sites for temporary installations to keep plants running, we expect these numbers to increase in the coming days and weeks and we are implementing a priority service with immediate effect for all of our 200+ UK Service Contract Partners. We are also working with many of our contract customers to identify key risks and implement resilience planning to cover the next 3 months.
As we enter this unchartered territory around the virus and business impact, I would like to thank you for your organisations continued support.
To keep your site running through these times, we can work together to identify key risks and implement a resilience plan to cover the next 3 months.
We know site visits may not be an available option to you right now so we can create this plan through our Online Conference Call System, GoToMeeting. This creates a safe environment for everyone. However, if you are still happy for us to visit sites, we can come to you and a self-certification document will be issued before we arrive.
Our qualified engineers and yourselves will go through your critical drive & motor assets and any specific technical applications that are required, as well as assessing the life cycle position of the asset.
We will then draw up a contingency plan based on replacement options, spares, available hire units or direct replacement availability that we can put in place to keep your site running if one of these critical assets were to breakdown.
This is a free service for our customers, email us at [email protected] to book in your free resilience plan.
